The First Deed
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Here is one of the hadith I mentioned in this post.
"The first of his deeds, for which a man will be taken into account on the Day of Resurrection, will be his Salat. If it is sound, he will be saved and successful; but if it is corrupt, he will be unfortunate and miserable. If any deficiency is found in his (obligatory) Salat,
Allah سبحانه وتعالى will say: 'Look at My slave, whether he has any Nafl Salat so that what is lacking in the (obligatory) Salat may be made up by it.'
Then the rest of his actions Saum, Zakat, etc will be also dealt with in a similar manner."

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Sorry no hadith today inshallah tomorrow. I just want to remind you guys that you never know which little action of yours can inspire a person to seek out Allah swt and learn about his deen. So beware of what you do, how you speak, and portray yourself, you are not only representing your self and your family but this beautiful deen. If you read my personal blog, you know about the little girl that visited me. (Read here) She visited me again today and subhanallah she saw me praying and now wants to learn. (Will write about it more detail on the personal blog soon inshallah but I just wanted to remind you.)
May Allah guide her and all others like her and shows them what Islam is all about.
Ameen!

The Companions
Eight Conditions
EIGHT CONDITIONS THAT MUST BE OBSERVED BEFORE ONE PERFORMS SALAH (NAMAAZ).
1. To make Wudhu if necessary.
2. To make Ghusl if necessary.
3. Taharah (cleanliness) of body and dress.
4. Taharah (cleanliness) of place.
5. Facing towards the Qiblah.
6. Covering of the Satr (private parts).
7. Niyyah (intention) for Namaaz.
8. Performing Salaat at the prescribed times.
If any one of these conditions is omitted, Salaat will not be accepted.
Notes: A Males satr is from the navel to the knees (including knees.)
A Females satr is her entire body except her face and hands to the wrist.
Taharah (cleanliness) means one be free from all Najaasate (Filth and Impurities).
There are two types of Najaasate which we will cover in the next post inshallah.
Ps. This and a lot more is covered in the book Taleem-Ul-Haq

My mission and maybe yours too
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
After reading maghrib salah today I was just sitting on the musallah(prayer rug) thinking about the way I pray. I thought about the story of a man who went to sell an object and when he showed it to the buyer the man said he would give so and so money. The seller asked why so little? The buyer who was an expert in his field began to point out flaws in the product. The seller began to cry. The buyer became alarmed and said okay I will give you so and so but don’t cry. The seller said that is not why I am crying. I am crying because I am thinking about my salah. The seller is wondering if Allah will accept his salah.*
Think about the way you pray.
Does your mind wander, do you make mistakes in your recitation, forget which rakaat you are on, etc?
Our salah is one of the very first things we will be asked about, if it is well then everything else will be easy as well** but if it is not then.. may Allah have mercy on you.
What can we do? How can we save our selves?
Did you know that if there is an discrepancy in your salah then Allah will tell the angels to see if you have any nafl(optional) salah and those will be used to fill the discrepancy.*** So my dear brothers and sisters I have an idea.
What if every day you prayed 2 nafl salah.
(If you already read so n so amount add two more)
Gradually you can increase it but lets start with two inshallah. Imagine, these 2 nafl can be the difference between hell and heaven for you. They can help determine your fate. You can pray them like right after you come out of the shower in the morning that way you have wudhu as it is. I'm sure 5 minutes for this will be well worth it in the akirah. Or at night before bed when you are reading surah ya-seen and other surahs that have great rewards for being read before bed. This is my mission.(mission sounds better then goal heh) To pray two (more) rakaats everyday inshallah until it becomes habit.
Why don’t you try this with me?
I will inshallah be there for you if you need encouragement, advice or anything else.
We can do this together.
Who’s with me?
*I read this story in a kitaab years ago. I wrote it from memory so its paraphrased. The original story is very beautiful inshallah I will look for it and post it up.
** & *** I also read these in a kitaab. I don’t remember which one so again I will look for them and post it.
Edit: **& ***= "The first of his deeds, for which a man will be taken into account on the Day of Resurrection, will be his Salat. If it is sound, he will be saved and successful; but if it is corrupt, he will be unfortunate and miserable. If any deficiency is found in his (obligatory) Salat,

Then the rest of his actions Saum , Zakat, etc will be also dealt with in a similar manner."

I am still looking for the story as unfortunately I do not remember which book it is in. If you have read it before please let me know.

"How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him."
