Sadaqah

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Every day the sun rises charity (Sadaqah) is due on every joint of a person: you administer justice between two men is a charity; and assisting a man to mount his beast, or helping him load his luggage on it is a charity; and a good word is a charity; and every step that you take (towards the mosque) for Salat (prayer) is a charity and removing harmful things from the road is a charity".
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

In Muslim, it is reported on the authority of `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) that Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Everyone of the children of Adam has been created with three hundred and sixty joints; so he who declares the Glory of Allah (i.e., saying Allahu Akbar), praises Allah (i.e., Al-hamdu lillah), declares Allah to be One (i.e., La ilaha illallah), glorifies Allah, and seeks forgiveness from Allah (i.e., Astaghfirullah), and removes stone, or thorn, or bone from people's path, and enjoins good and forbids evil, to the number of those three hundred and sixty, will walk that day having rescued himself from Hell".

Commentary: This Hadith also tells that even a person who does not have the capacity to pay Sadaqah (charity, alms, propitiatory offerings, etc.) can also pay it in the manner prescribed above and earn its reward. Moreover, he can also pay alms for the joints in his body.

Whose house is the Masjid?

The masjid is the house of every pious person who fears Allah. For the one who spends most of his time in the masjid, Allah has taken upon Himself to comfort him, to bestow Mercy upon him, to make the crossing over bridge of Sirat easy for him, and to grant him his Pleasure and Paradise.

Are you amongst them?

An announcer will call out on the day of Judgment, 'Where are the wise ones?' People will inquire, 'Who are meant by the wise ones?' The reply will be, 'They are those who always remembered Allah whether sitting, standing, or reclining, and pondered over the creation of the heaven and the earth and would say,
" O Allah! You have not created all this in vain. We glorify you; save us from the fire of hell."
Thereafter a flag will appear for them, and they will follow this flag and will be told to enter paradise and stay forever.

Ramadan 19

Ibn Mas'ood reported: On every night of Ramadan a caller from the heavens calls out, " O you seeker of good come, come near, O you seeker of evil, turn away (from evil) and open your eyes." Thereafter that angel calls out " Is there any seeker of forgiveness that he may be forgiven? Is there anyone repenting so that his repentance shall be accepted? Is there anyone making dua so that his dua may be granted? Is there anyone begging anything so that his plea may be fulfilled?"

Ramadan 18

There are three people whose duas are not rejected, the fasting person until he breaks the fast, the just ruler, and the oppressed whose du'a Allah lifts above the clouds and opens the doors of the heavens, and Allah says, 'I swear by My honor, verily I shall assist you even though it may be after some time."

There is still time

Ramadan, the blessed month has come to you, wherein Allah turns towards you and sends down to you His special mercy, forgives faults, accept prayers, looks at your competitions for the greatest good and boasts to His angels about you. So show your righteousness to Allah. Verily the most pitiable and unfortunate is the one who is deprived of Allah's mercy this month.
